Okay so I have been less than gregarious as of late but I thought I would tell you how well my horses have been doing and relate an anecdote

Devon Cream has won over 30 grand this summer and for once I am cashing checks instead of writing them.

Homerun has just won his first race

as for the anecdote...

Me and my mom were in Arizon at a JC Penny's shopping for clothes for my niece (for the record I was just the chauffeur)when a helpful lady cam up and asked me if I needed any help? I pointed at my mother and said "ask her I am just here for security".

Her head whipped around looked at my mother and squeaked out " you must be either really rich or really famous to need that much security"

Well my little 3 year old filly is earning her keep, finishing second in the Alberta Princess stakes race she has earned $ 18,000.00 in the last 3 weeks. And she has many more stakes races in the future.

Five things that make me happy

A cold northern lake at dawn, the water is flat as glass and nothing but the birds are moving. I push out from shore in a boat not even starting the motor and I quietly fish. for a brief period of time its like having the whole world to yourself

Driving when the cops aren't around and you can zip around corners and speed over hills.

Okay let me preface this, this is not a cry for help or an indication of intent

I am 41 soon enough to be 42 and I have worked for the same place for 25 years, I have accomplished everything I can. I have no wife or kids. I have nothing left to do with my life and plenty of time to do it.

Does any one else contemplate just ending it all not out of despair or fear of failure but out of boredom? I am having a hard time finding motivation to do anything because it will just be a repeat of something I have done before.

I need a major change in my life but I am stuck here looking after my mother, father, sister and brother. Keeping the business going despite them. So they can eat and vacation and pay their mortgages.

I think if I could I would go be a long distance trucker and just spend some time spinning miles onto a truck, no responsibilities except making sure the load got where it was going in the time allotted.

Funny thing is if I had a choice I would jump off a very high building or mountain because I think the few seconds of absolute free fall would be the most exhilarating experience of my life. I guess its a good thing I live on the flat flat prairies where the tallest building is 7 stories high

Okay so it has been noted by my one true follower that I haven't been around much lately. Well I have been around I just haven't had anything to say, so this post is probably going every where and no where.

First off the horses are not running yet though sometime early this year they should be.

Secondly like my Canadian goose brethren I have migrated south for the winter, or at least a vacation. I am in the southern US making a lot of noise and crapping all over the golf courses just like my Canadian goose brethren.

Unfortunately I am not in Florida or I might be tempted to look Chris up and see if she really is as brassy in person as claims to be on her blog. Footnote: That is a joke never ever meet casual acquaintances from the internet, only meet online friends in a public and well populated location, never give out too much information. These stupid electronic boxes are full of freaks, I estimate that 1 out of 2 people are freaks and since its not me that only leaves you.

Just after I arrived in the desert south west they had 2.5 inches of rain, this apparently constitutes a major storm and possibly a sign of the end times. I have converted to Zoroastrianism and await our demonic over lords.

Okay that should be enough for a wee while, as ever if you have a question ask it. If you have a smoke, smoke it, just do it outside I don't need your second hand smoke.

Devon Cream finished a very close second in her last race of the year in fact I am sure the winning horse is still trying to get her snot out of his ears. The two of them got together and sent a post card to third place something about "wish you were here....already" Horses can be so catty.

Prairie Ruff n Tuff is still sick but he is showing some good promise and we will see but again not till the new year.

I am down to a skeleton crew and I am getting tired of the jump your bones jokes

Okay I know I have been a little recalcitrant in my regularly scheduled updates so here goes

Devon cream is looking very good and she looks like she will make a return on investment, she was scheduled to run last weekend but the races were cancelled due to the extreme cold in Alberta. She will likely be running on Saturday but the race card has not been posted yet.

Prairie Ruff n Tuff is not so good he has apparently caught some kind of a virus and is off racing for at least a month and we will have to re-evaluate his potential

The Irish chick has virtually dropped off the face of the earth so no news there

Work is slowly killing me and the weather has turned completely unbearable it was -45 with the windchill this morning

If any one has a spare winning lottery ticket that they don't mind sharing I am willing to be a share holder

Okay The Devon Cream update

On a beautiful Friday night in Northlands Park, Emonton Alberta Devon Cream took to the track in the 5th race of the evening. She warmed up well and took to the gate. Running 2nd for most of the race she was edged into 3rd place at the wire. but for the first time i a long time she paid for herself so it is all good. Besides if she had of won she would have to move up in category and she likely would not have done well, she needs a couple more races for practice and then it will be all good

Okay so there is still no racing info for you fine feted follower(s). But here goes I am now legally licensed to own race horses in 3 province and licensed to sport fish in 2. Now if this keeps up some one will start accusing me of having a swelled head with my cross border dandering but rest assured I will remain the overly large prairie boy I have always been lol

Since I don't have racing to talk about I guess I will have to delve back into my dark deep mysterious past, or at least a story of fucking up at an earlier time

Picture a smallish but stout 14 year old boy riding his ten speed through the mean streets of a dusty prairie town, riding with the certain daring do that only dumb ass teenager can muster. I was cycling to visit a friend and it being down hill I was not wasting any time, approaching an intersection and a hard left turn. I judged the traffic or lack there of and decided to throw my bike into a hard left lean and head into the corner with all the speed I could, about half way through the turn that nasty bitch of a bicycle decided to teach me a lesson. The axle that the pedals attach to snapped in half and down I went hard into the asphalt and hard into the road rash.

Some passing motorists stopped and offered to help but even then understanding the need for manly ego I politely declined and limped bleeding the block and a half to my buddies abode. Where I did get some sympathy but only till they figured out I wasn't dying then like all boys do they had a good laugh.

The worst was my mom wouldn't even come and pick me up I had to walk the mile and a half home.

Thank Dog I didn't have helicopter parents, they taught me to be mentally tough and self reliant.

But there was hard lessons between here and there and a lot of bruises and scars.

Short and sweet she didn't run this week as all the 2 year olds were scratched by the judges. Apparently 2 year old horses are like teenagers in that they break easily. So since the track was wet and shitty from the non-stop rain they pulled the children off the track. This was also the last race in Saskatoon Saskatchewan and she will be coming home for a few weeks before heading off to Alberta to race. The trainer has promised to do his job this time so since he is cheaper we will be giving him a few more weeks. He will not be the trainer in Alberta

Prairie Ruff n Tuff is in Alberta to be schooled in the fine art of harness racing with a new trainer and hopefully he will be ready to run when the season starts out there. Otherwise he will be coming home in shame and ignominy and you know how hard that is for teenagers to bare that

Okay its time once again for the Deavon Creme update

She finished a strong 4th and looks to be ready to move up the ladder to racing in Alberta or British Columbia, she has 1 more week with the bad trainer and then on to greener pastures.

Prairie Ruff n Tuff has already moved on to greener pastures and has a new trainer and hopefully a chance at becoming a race horse. The driver being different then the trainer told us that the horses were poorly trained and even only half broke. I wonder what he did with all my money?

On a schadenfreude moment the trainer just cost one of my fellow race fellows $ 80,000.00 american type greenbacks. He was training their horse and it was a good horse and all it had to do was finish in 2:02 and run the last 1/4 in 29 seconds. Idiot boy went out and ran the guts out of the horse in first 3/4's and left it with nothing to finish even my horse beat him he finished 5th behind Deavon Creme and lost the sale. Best part of the schadenfreude one of the owners of the horse is his father in law

So on it goes for another week, wish me luck!

My dad's 2 horses both placed third in their respective races so not bad

My freinds horse that he bought for 2,000 dollars won in Alberta setting a new track record for 2 year olds and taking home a purse of $9,000.00 and they are talking about selling him for $60 - 75,000.00

Meanwhile the horses he owns with me and my dad still havent run a race!!!!

The Heartland Lacey Update

Say hello to the newest racehorse in my stable Deavon Creme, True she has been around awhile but she has finally qualified to be a race horse. Yeah!!!

On the regular front my fathers horse Pampered won in his classical style of a hard charge around the last turn from 3rd place, he is 10 years old but hard as nails good luck in Saskatoon

Ray's Folly however was not so lucky especially as he was interfered with and finished a dissapointing 5th. That was all the horses we had running this week

On a darker more dismal note I turned 41 today yay me!

In response to Chris's question

How long DOES it typically take for a horse to be ready to run a race? 10 months doesn't seem that long?

Typically it seems to take between 5 and 8 months, you can rush the training but you gamble that the horse will not injure itself. For example one of the guys we race against is a bit impatient and he rushed his horse in a little over 8 weeks, it ran once or twice injured itself and is now done racing till next year. He actually did this with more than one horse this year and it has cost him every time

That is why I did not begrudge the time spent training until it turned into being ridiculous, I can honestly say that I am now leery about purchasing any more horses and especially about placing with this trainer.

I met a new trainer and I respect his abilities and judgement a lot but he is 82 and not capable of looking after more than 1 or 2 horses which he already has

By the way his 2 year olds which he bought at the exact same sale have been racing for 6 weeks already ...... and winning

Okay the Heartland Lacey report

She is still retired always will be and it bothers me more than I thought it would. I somehow became more attached than I thought I had, She was my first race horse but oh well shit happens!!

This is a picture of one of my other 2 horses let me introduce you to Prairie Ruff n Tuff he is a 2 year old brown gelding, but his nae race horse mainly based on the fact that he HASN'T been raced yet!!! the trainer he is with seems to think I am made of money as he has been in training for 10 months and still hasn't run a race!! All of this trainers other customers are in the same boat and believe me that ship is about to sink. We are all tired of paying training bills with no return on investment

I might just have to get out of the horse race business as it is too hard on my nerves and it is so far a very expensive hobby

I regret to inform you that in the process of training Heartland Lacey ran away and colided with a fixed object. She sustained serious career ending injuries and has retired from the field. With a record of 2 wins she will be sent to pasture to recuperate and be turned hopefully into some little girls pet.

Okay the Heartland Lacey update

We were in the Little Irish Downs in Killarney! Unfortunately Killarney Manitoba or I might have snuck off for an afternoon tryst with the Irish chick

Anyways I went to a horse race and brought a cow with me, she didn't even belong on the track she was 9Th in a field of 8

Its a good thing that there is only 3 more weekends of racing in Manitoba I don't think I could stand it

The other horses did okay they didn't win but they didn't embarrass themselves at least

We accidentally sponsored a race!!!! lol

We sponsored a race next weekend but they screwed up the dates and have us down for both weekends luckily I was able to scrounge up a prize, some corporate jackets and shirts, It worked out pretty well because it was a tie for the winner so we just split up the merchandise

Next weekend we are giving away a horse blanket to the winner of the race, we are prepared for this one

Okay we had Monday off so that's why the slow update on the racing

My horse heartland Lacey finish a solid 2nd earning a 900 dollar paycheck and some much needed self respect. She was following the second horse out of the hole when the horse stopped running and just quit, my horse was boxed in and had to drop all the way back to the back of the field. She then staged a valiant comeback passing all but the lead horse to come in 2nd. A very hard race and a very good win in my books.

The trainer is notably and nicely more interested in his job

My dads 2 horses Ray's Folly and Pampered both won there races so it was a stellar week end at the track

Horses have very diverse personalities and it does affect their performance

They call some ponies polite because they refuse to pass other horses so they never win

Some are quitters that will judge their own chances of winning and quit on you

some hate to lose and will give everything they have to win

But yes my fear is he is teaching the horse to quit and therefor lose

I call it my horse but I in fact only own a 25% interest in the horse the driver/trainer owns 50% and another guy owns 25%, so the only way I could fire him is to sell my interest or buy his which I just might do. I would prefer to buy his half but we will see

The real gravy money comes in driving and winning

Lets assume he won every race

average winning $ 750.00 x 8 = $6,000.00 x 10% drivers fee $ 600.00
1/2 owner of 3 horses 750.00 x 3 X 5 0% = $1,125. 00

potential pretax net income per weekend $ 1,725.00
minus extra expenses $ 00.00

This does not even reflect the fact that he has lost most of his "catch" drives which means more potential money out of his pocket

Bad news again on the western front, Heartland Lacey again finished a dismal 7th out 8. Well out of the money and the pride. Not her fault though as the trainer and part owner has not been pulling his weight, he has found a cabal to go and get drunk with on the weekends and hasn't been paying attention to his horses however Saturday life gave him a wedgie and he went home with his tail firmly planted between his legs. Sunday he returned and appeared sober and focused He did much better but his horses were under prepared so he only won a single race and unusually no one picked him up to drive their horses as a catch driver. Unfortunately our horse raced Saturday. He had a shitty pay day this week and I hope it has opened his eyes but I will have to wait till next weekend to see if this was a one day reformation or he has truly woken up from the bad dream. A day too late but never too soon.

The two yearlings are being trained approximately an hour away and I have seen them a few times its not a regular thing

Heartland Lacey on the other hand I have seen almost every week since we bought her and yes I go and pet her and talk to her as she quite likes a wee scratch on the cheek. As well I quite often feed her carrots as well as some of the other horses. I do not feed carrots to other peoples horses as they are private property.

Of course to my trainer they are a means to an end and he does not generally show them any affection, he treats them well and grooms them but I have never seen him scratch an ear and talk to them

Hi Everybody

Okay first the update, Heartland Lacey finished dead last in her race thanks to an unambitious driver

Now to the question about expense

There is 2 answers to this yes and no

No Heartland Lacey is racing and she is winning enough that she is paying her own way she has cost me nothing except for the initial outlay of $ 375.00 for a 1/4 interest, in fact if I ever get an accounting it may well prove that she owes me money.

Yes, the other two yearlings I own are not racing and they are costing $600.00 each a month to train and board. However since I only own a 1/3 interest in each horse it is only costing me $400.00 plus sundries a month. The problem is that they are months away from paying back the costs involved...... if they ever do

Part of the point of being in a partnership or syndicate in owning horses is to spread the risks and costs out. If I owned just one horse I would be responsible for all the costs and risks associated with the ownership of that horse. so I could conceivably be out thousands of dollars with out the possibility of return if the horse broke down. Since I only own parts of three horses any one of them could break a leg and I would only be out my part of the investment instead of the whole thing

My fathers horse Pampered one his race by a nose Sunday, but the nose counts so yeah for him.

Last week there was no Racing in Yorkton Saskatchewan but this weekend there is, unfortunately I can't go do to previous engagements. But my horse Heartland Lacey is in the 5th race on Sunday June 14th and then she will be done racing in Saskatchewan.

She is tentatively scheduled to be racing June the 21st in Miami, sorry Chris that is Miami Manitoba. Again I can not make that meet either because I have agreed to go fishing with a co-worker to Lake of the Woods for the weekend.

Okay Updates

First I have pictures of the soapbox derby but I have to find the camera

Paul finished 3rd in a Field of approximately 30 he was undefeated to the very end and lost the A-side finals by a whisker. He is a good wee man and proud as punch, he is already plotting next years campaign

My horse had a disastrous start but managed to make up ground to finish 4th in a field of 8he won a little bit of money but its not much, good thing I havent based my retirement plans around him

On a sadder note one of my fathers horses seems to have a career ending injury and they are contemplating taking her out of the track and perhaps breeding her

So all in all not a first class weekend but not all bad

Live racing for the 2009 season kicked off at the Yorkton Exhibition Association track in Saskatchewan last Friday. The weather conditions were not optimal. A bundled group took in the first card of the season under many layers of clothing, but that didn't stop Ryan Grundy from making his presence felt.

On what was the first of 16 nights of racing this season, Grundy's name kept showing up in the winner's circle Friday, as the Manitoba driver took three rides to top spot.

“It was good, really good,” Grundy said with a smile, as he returned to his barn afterward. He said the success on opening night was a result of having horses ready for the season.

“My own stable, the three I had out were just ready to go. I had them really fit. Some of the horses on the grounds aren't quite fit yet.”

By having his horses primed, Grundy said he went into the night with a plan. “I drove them aggressively. I gave them a chance to win.” He added that because they were in condition he knew he wasn't going to hurt them by going hard.

Grundy's first win of the night came in the second race with Idle On Over, a horse owned and trained by Robert Ross of Vidren, MB.

Grundy was back to the winner's circle in the third race with Heartland Lacey, a horse he trains, as well as co-owns with Sean Osterbeck and Derek Gilbert.

The final winning ride of the night for Grundy came in the sixth race with Pampered, a horse he trains for owners Richard Osterbeck and Fred Gilbert.

The Manitoba driver had place finishes with Kneehill Harry in the fifth and Rocky Skies in the eighth race.

While Grundy had a huge night driving three wins, and two place finishers, the fastest pace of the night had a familiar pairing rounding the track is a crisp 2:01.2. Brian Gray, a veteran of four seasons at the track took his seven-year-old mare Outlaw Watch Me to top spot in the night's seventh race.

The win was Outlaw Watch Me's first of 2009 in five starts, and pushed the horse's lifetime earning past $68,500.

Heartland Lacey the newest addition to my stable won her first race im Yorkton by 1 length for a purse of $ 500.00. Sure the prize money is low but she is showing some real promise. We will have to see how next weeks race goes

Okay so in the interest of not taking over Chris's Blog I will post my dumb ass drunk story on my own blog (as well as upping my post count)

It was when I was about 25, I met an old school Friend in the bar and both being a little wild and wacky we started hard at it. I wanted whiskey he wanted tequila so I ordered a round of 3 whiskies, 3 tequila's and a beer. He bought the second round I remember that much however much of the rest of the evening I have been told about. Apparently I was making "snow angels" on the bar floor and I fell over in the bar hit a table and put a 7 stitch cut over my right eye. Apparently I was leaning against the side of the bar playing with my cut and making the bouncers go green. My other Friend loaded me into a taxi and took me off to the hospital.

I came to in the cab and remember walking into emergency, where the attending nurse was my parents next door neighbour. I layed down on the table and the doctor came in and told me how many stitches I needed and asked if wanted a local anesthetic? I told him that I probably had enough anti-freeze running through my body that I could for go the pleasure.

The doctor put some surgical cloths over my face, I think to escape my alcohol breath. He then proceeded to do his job. It is kind of a surreal feeling to be blind folded and fully aware as someone sticks a needle in your forehead and slowly pulls a string through your skin.

I get back to the apartment I share with my brother about 3am, I got out of bed at 7am and my brother gave me a ride to work(I was in no shape to drive). I walked into my fathers office and sit down in one of his guest chairs and he takes one look at me and says he doesn't think I am in any shape to be at work. I agreed whole heartily and my brother gives me a ride home again

1 week later I am in front of a mirror with nail clippers and a pair of tweezers removing the stitches myself vowing never to drink tequila ever again. I have kept that vow

The real kicker to the whole story the day I showed up drunk in my dad's office was December the 24th. Helluva Christmas present dad lol

Well I don't remember if I told yall but I bought a 1/4 interest in a third horse, I own it with a Friend and the trainer owns 1/2. The trainer is telling me that the wee lass is training well and I could recoup my whole investment in 1 or 2 races. The trainer was desperate for cash and sold the horse too cheap I think but I paid what he asked but I was expecting to pay twice what I did. It seems for once I made a bargain but I haven't even ever seen this horse. Not even a picture of it so I hope its as good as they say.

Its finally getting to be decent weather here and I am considering demothballing my trailer for the summer. Any one wants to drop by for a well done steak just RSVP by the previous Friday.

I am scheduled this weekend to go and help one of my employees strip the stucco off his house, I remember this as shitty job but he asked so I agreed. I think I will be getting my exercise this weekend lol

Everything is going fairly well these days I am happy with where things are

I think I will take my big red truck out of the garage and go for a drive, some people like motorcycles or sports cars but I prefer my Super Duty Ford

Okay sorry for the confusion but its not my birthday, My birthday is in September and since they now start with ffff's we need never speak of this again.

That was supposed to represent an old depressed fart(me) having a party, A customer has agreed to hand deliver a cheque for 1.3 million dollars to me today which will ease my cash flow problems a certain amount. Now if he would only pay the other 2.2 it really would be a PARTY.

Now onto new business

Chris has inspired me to post about the fabulous world of being the boss, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Sure the perks and the salary are nice but the responsibilities and stress some times make you question the worth of it all. And of course the employees can be the biggest stress of them all, well after cash flow.

Business wise we had an exceptional year last year with our highest sales and best profit margin ever. But that lead me to having to hire 103 new people in 2008 alone. Don't get me wrong I didn't create 103 new positions I just rotated that many through the roster. We peaked out at 85 total and believe me that was enough.

But lets look at some of the greatest hits

Theres the guy who didn't like being spoken to harshly by the site supervisor so he walked the 10 miles back to the hotel got drunk off his ass crazy and tore up the hotel and private vehicles to the tune of about 8 grand was arrested and posted out of town by the RCMP. He was put on the bus and told never come back except for his court date. He actually phoned up a week later and asked if he still had a job!

I ended up replacing my whole office staff, except for me unfortunately. My head book keeper of 7 years quit with 1 weeks notice, the bitch. Her replacement even though I kept asking her if she needed help and if she was keeping up and was reassured she was, we found hundreds of thousands of unbilled work orders hidden around the office after she quit.

The guy that was dating my head book keeper and who I was working at finding a way to fire him with out pissing her off who quit because one of my supervisors said something mean to him, poor didums.

The 14 guys I hired and who never actually ever showed up, by the way they aren't in the 103 total

The ones who are desperate for money, would do anything for money except show up on a Saturday or overtime

We have a clean shaven policy because of the possibility of needing a rescue respirator, you would be surprised how many men value a goatee over a job

By the way I say men because other than office staff my crew is almost entirely male, we are not sexist but 99.9% of applicants are men and the few women we have hired don't stick it out. So no fair employment complaints against me

One guy quit because he had to share a hotel room, there weren't enough rooms in the small town so they had to double up.

The supposedly trained professional secretary who couldn't even file because she didn't know her alphabet.

Oh well back to my day job

Thank you for your recent visitation and criticism. Yes I fully admit that this is a whiny blog because I come here to whine. I don't whine in my real life as there are entirely too many relying on me. But every one needs a vent and this is my place to vent. If you don't like my musings that is your business but should you ever bother returning feel free to comment as you want, I always welcome other perspectives on my life or at least that part I choose to show you.

One interesting point you raise is why Chris follows my blog. I know you followed me from there because as far as I know she is the only one in the world who follows my whining. I believe she used to enjoy reading about the Irish chick but since I rarely discuss her much this reason has obviously expired. I guess we have a weird blog relationship I have followed her through all of the twists ant turns of her life through blogging. You may know her original blog "100 reasons I hate my husband" it was a great blog and she is a fantastic writer.

I wish I could write as well and find the humour in life she and so many others do, that isn't me so I get on with posting what I do.

I think I have discovered the most boring person in the world, like this road he is flat and boring with nothing of interest happening. He never has any drama, he doesn't do drugs or do stupid things with money. He has a steady job and a steady income. Okay I have been accused of being a little elusive as of late so I am here to welcome you behind the curtains back stage to my fabulous life

Saturday as per my usual routine I was working on getting a little stupid on liquor. any ways i tripped myself up on a carelessly discarded towel and landed on my glass, doing a remarkably good job of cutting myself to pieces. the blood trail and pool where I stemmed the flow were fairly impressive. anyways i went to sleep after applying first aid.

the next day I woke up and re-examined my wounds and decided one needed stitches 2 to be exact. Instead of being embarrassed by admitting my stupidity i put them in myself. luckily they are hidden by clothes so i do not have to explain the shitty job. it appears to be healing well with no infection

Any ways just to satisfy the voyeurs you now know the truth and only the people who read my little tome actually know the truth. i lied to the Irish chick, i told her i hurt myself but if i told her this story she would freak. luckily she never reads this blog

Lets see I spent the weekend in Portage La Prairie Manitoba at my nephew Paul's hockey tournament, a good time was had by all. I went in the hotel water slide played dodge ball with some water logged been bags and got drunk.

We had a party in my room till 3 am that included several visits from the management and the hasty retreat of my neighbours. For the amount they soaked me for that hotel room they aren't getting any sympathy from me, the maids however earned their pay on that job

My brother and I have a rivalry going over our trucks I say Ford's rule he is a mopar dork. This weekend my FORD played taxi to his family cause his crappy dodge wouldn't start Saturday morning outside a pizza joint in portage. That is twice in less than a year I have had to use my FORDS to rescue his dodges lol. Needless to say I have been rubbing it in gleefully at every opportunity

I spent time playing with my niece and nephew so it was a class time all the way around

Work is a never ending slog that is wearing me down faster than I ever anticipated so if you know anyone with 8 million dollars and the ambition to own a heavy equipment construction company in western Canada send them my way

The Diabetes thing is kicking the shit out of me and its causing problems with my kidneys. I always said I would die when I was 47 but am starting to wonder if I will last that long lol. Enough of the morbid shhtuff

Well after a three day drive of 2040 miles I am in way off Arizona for a few weeks of rest and relaxation.

The drive was relatively uneventful no accidents or incidents

Haven't updated much the last while so I expect it will be a long time between replies

On the home front my war on diabetes hasn't been going well and the little bastard appears to be winning. my kidneys ar starting to show signs of damage and I have little or no feeling in my feet.I have developed hyperpotasium though it may be potasiosys or some equally silly name. My kidneys are no longer effectively filtering and disposing the potassium out of my system. This of course mandates another dietary change and another prescription. This growing old thing is entirely over rated and I don't recommend it to anyone.

I guess his should be a wake up call to me and I should start putting things in order like my will, morbid fucker some days aren't I

Anyways if you want to be named in the will just tell me what you want and what you are willing to do to get it lol

To those of us from the more civilized societies Boxing Day is the day after Christmas and is both an excuse for another day off and a name for the day after christmas when you finaly escape the loving embrace of your family

The horse is named pampered and won its first 2 races since he bought it but this day it finished 8th out of a field of 8 lol

1 I am tall 6'6" and no I didn't fudge
2 I am fat 400 pounds to be exact
3 the first 2 facts mean I resemble a defensive line man more than anything
4 the first 2 facts probably explain why I have diabetes
5 I have lost around 80 pounds since I was diagnosed with diabetes about 5 months ago
6 I am very good at sticking to my low carb diet
7 I ate my first real complete salad at the tender age of 39, after being diagnosed with the big D
8 I even gave up beer for diabetes, well mostly anyways
9 Diabetes is actually very easy to manage with diet, at least for me it is but I was never a big bread, pasta and sugar fan. But I miss beer
10 My older brother taught me to drive a car
11 I taught my older brother how to drive a semi-truck
12 I have worked on and off for the same company for 24 of my 39 years
13 My family owns said company
14 I worked for exactly 3 different companies in my life
15 I delivered domino's pizza for 2 months 1 spring
16 I made little metal boxes for a year and a half
17 I have a sub genius to genius IQ
18 I chose to work with my hands and found out it takes a lot of brains as well
19 I played second fiddle to my brother most of my life just because he was my older brother, its only in the last few years that my dad sees me as his equal.
20 I run the family business not because of my father but in spite of him, he tried many times to give my job to my brother but he didn't want it and I wouldn't let him take it
21 I can be very domineering when I choose to be but seldom choose to be because I don't want people to think I am a bully because of my size
22 I am very shy, I hide it better than most
23 When I was 15 I entertained the idea of going to university and becoming an accountant as I always like numbers
24 when I was 15 I started in the family business and chucked university out the window in favour of playing with tonka trucks
25 I sometimes regret that decision, though I suspect its just mid life crisis

29 I have lived in exactly 5 different places in my life, we moved from the family farm when I was less than a year, when I was 10 we moved from one side of the city to the other, when I was 21 I moved into an apartment with my brother and when I was 24 I bought the house I still live in
30 I have owned 5 cars in my life, my identity is not tied up in my car so I don't care how old they are as long as they run well
31 I was born with a hole in my heart, I remember allot of visits to the doctors when I was a toddler, stopped when I was 4 or 5 so I guess I must be cured
32 I have worn glasses since I was 8 years old
33 My Garage is better furnished and in better shape then my house is
34 I own my own golf cart and have for 8 years
35 I have owned as many as 3 boats at one time, presently I am boat less
36 I am getting bitter in my old age
37 I have no Friends only acquaintances
38 I had a friend but his first wife didn't like me and his second liked me even less.
39 My friend left town with out even saying good bye , so good riddance
40 The death of his father has probably affected me more than the any one else, he too was a friend but gone and not forgotten
41 I am stubborn to the point of obstinacy, it runs in the family from both sides, no one is more stubborn then me
